Why I chose to ride a Bob's:

Born and raised in Idaho, Dell began riding horses at an early age. He enjoyed roping and working cows. He pursued his interest in horses in college and graduated in 1992 with a degree in Horse Training & Management from Lamar College in Colorado.
Dell began riding and training reining horses during an internship with Bob Loomis while still in college. He continued to ride with Bob after graduating from college and, less than a year later, was tapped by one of Bob's clients, Pat Warren, to be the head trainer for Rancho Oso Rio, her private facility in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The ranch relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1995 and in 1999, moved to a larger facility in North Scottsdale to accommodate the ranch's growing breeding and training program.
After 8 years of working with Rancho Oso Rio, in 2001, Dell decided to pursue his lifetime dream of owning and operating his own breeding and training facility, and moved to Texas to make that dream a reality. Dell now owns and operates a 50-acre ranch located in Tioga, Texas. The ranch boasts a state-of-the-art breeding and training operation, located in prime horse country.
Dell does several clinics each year that draw novices through professionals to both ride and observe. Dell's past clinic schedule has included Australia, Italy, Canada, Holland, and Denmark and in the United States: Arizona, California, Kansas, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah and Wisconsin. In 2006, Dell did a reining demonstration in Moscow, Russia.
Dell showed in his first NRHA Futurity in 1993. In 1994, just one year later, he placed third on Taris Little Vintage at the NRHA Open Futurity among the leading reining professionals. In 1995, he rode that same mare to the AQHA World Championship title in Junior Reining. In 1997, Dell earned the honors of NRHA Derby Reserve Champion on Hangten Peppy. In 1998, Dell rode BH Hollywood Lady to the Reserve Futurity Championship, and in 1999, he took the NRHA Futurity Championship title aboard Hollywood Vintage. In 1999, Dell also earned one of the honors of a lifetime – the opportunity to compete in the first United States Equestrian Team Festival of Champions in Gladstone, New Jersey. To qualify, Dell rode Hangten Peppy to the highest score among all seven of the 1999 USET/Cosequin Qualifying Series. In 2003, Dell earned the USET/Cosequin Festival of Champions Reserve Title riding Starlights Wrangler and was the All-American Quarter Horse Congress Futurity Champion on Starbucks Sidekick. Dell has won AQHA World Championship and Reserve Championship Titles in 1995 on Taris Little Vintage, 2001 on Broadmoor, and 2002 on Dunnit In Hollywood. He has been the NRBC Champion five times, winning the prestigious event in 1998 on Mr Boomerjac, 2002 on Starlights Wrangler, 2003 and 2004 on Reminic N Dunit, and 2005 on Hit The Lights. Dell has been the NRHA Derby Reserve Champion three times, in 1997 on Hangten Peppy, 1998 on Mr Boomerjac, and in 2005 aboard Starbucks Sidekick.
Dell has continued to win and place consistently and frequently, at the top levels of the sport. In 2000 and 2002, Dell was a member of the USET Nation's Cup Team USA that brought home the Gold Medal. In 2001, Dell and Team USA traveled to Germany to claim the USET Nation's Cup Silver Medal. In 2003, Dell and Starlights Wrangler were the individual Silver Medalists at the USET Festival of Champions. In 2006, Dell qualified for the World Equestrian Games aboard Starbucks Sidekick. Dell, along with his teammates, Tim McQuay, Matt Mills, Aaron Ralston, and Tom McCutcheon, traveled to Germany to bring home the Gold Medal for Team USA.
Since the inception of the NRHA in 1966, there have been only a few people who have accomplished the achievement of winning over one million dollars in lifetime earnings at NRHA Events. During 2005, Dell became one of those people. Dell is the 6th person to win over one million dollars in lifetime earnings showing reining horses in approved-reining events.
Dell's keen focus on training and showing high qualify reining horses, developing a world-class breeding program for reining horse prospects, and his keep interest in providing the best conditioning program (training, exercise, and nutrition) for each state of each horse's life at the ranch, have made him a trainer with whom sponsors want to be associated. Dell's sponsors include Purina Mills, LLC; Nutramax Laboratories, Inc./Cosequin; Won Pad/Won Boots; MVP Professional Horse Care Products; Roper Apparel and Footwear; Anderson Bean Boot Company; Bob's Custom Saddles; and Durham Trailer Ranch/Bloomer Trailers.
Dell and his wife, Terri, and their son, Jimmy, own and operate Hendricks Reining Horses, Inc. in Tioga, TX. They are committed to building a high-quality training and showing operation and to developing a world-class breeding program.
